The KDI School of Public Policy and Management is a government-run graduate school affiliated to the Korea Development Institute (KDI), and a member of the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences. It was founded in 1997 to foster international experts in the field of development economics and public policy. == History == The KDI School was established in 1997 by the Korea Development Institute(KDI), which is an autonomous economic policy think tank that was set up by the South Korean government in 1971 to provide research and analysis of economic policy decisions. As Korea's leading think tank, the KDI established its graduate school to educate and develop the next generation of leaders in today's rapidly changing and globalizing economy. The School offers an innovative educational program focusing on policy and international issues and aims to transform mid-career professionals into leaders of their respective fields by equipping them with new knowledge, vision and a global perspective.〔()〕 This was made possible by employing the wealth of research and resources from the KDI, and has contributed to sharing Korea's unique development experience with the global community. It has allowed the KDI School to be recognized throughout Korea and the world as a premier institution for research and learning. The KDI School is counted as 6th Top think tank in Asia, 22nd in the world and 8th best affiliated think tank in the world.
